"My God Is." "No My God Is!"

"My God Is." "No My God Is!"

A Poem by JenLyn

People say they believe

People say they have faith

Then they go and preach hate.

“My God is the God”

“No My God Is”

“I think my God is his.”

People tell me are you awake?

People, you are allowed mistakes.

Just please stop all the hate!

“My God is white”

“My God is black”

“I still think my God is his”

People make up your mind.

People unlike you, God was kind.

Please put down your stupid signs!!!

“My God is Republican."

“My God is Democrat."

“I think my God is a Repubocrat.”

People, please put down your bats!

People, you’re better than that!

Don’t even know who you’re yelling at!

“My God hates you!”

“Well, My God hates you too!”

“My God hates me.”

People just open your eyes to see.

People please just let it all be.

Just allow yourself to be free.

“My God will kill you!”

“My God will kill you too!”

“My God wants me to commit suicide.”

People, you’re all dense.

People, you all make me tense.

None of you make a bit of damn sense!

“My God is Jewish”

“My God is American”

“My God could be Hungarian.”

People you all praise the same thing.

People, you should all be ashamed.

You, yourselves are too blame.

Because you see, God is not white. God is not black. God is none of that.

God is your heart and soul.

God is what makes you whole.

God is what allows you to grow.

People, please put down your guns.

People just let it all be done.

It’ll be nice to see people, not on the run.

God wants you to love not hate.

God wants you to accept and appreciate.

God wants you to fulfill your fate.

So stop debating which God you’re praising.

So stop all of the rating and the hazing.

Just be thankful that God thinks you’re worth saving.

This is in no way one of my better poems but I wrote it because of all of the protests and hate, over the health care reform bill and well the fact that most people are just ignorant when it comes to religion and politics.

This piece speaks for many people. It is true that people are fighting over the health care reform, and maybe if they all grew up and noticed what was actually going. Then the argument would be over.Oh, I almost forgot Dread Solomon has a point, what does 'My God is his? And people are to blame'

I think my God is a Repubocrat. " Wow

this is pure expression, a marvelous poem, because never do works of such length draw my interest, this not only draws it but keeps the reader reading and wanting to see the end result. Awsome lyrical beat, and style.

So freaking true, I believe in God but never go to church, because they're corrupted. I knew a pastor who cheated on his wife, every since that happened I couldn't stand walking into a church.

This piece is filled with nothing but pure truth and honesty. One of the greatest poems I've heard here. It sucks how people in this world are such hypocrites. You did a fantastic job with this, I loved it!!!!

I liked this, it really illustrates peoples' perspectives on the idea of God and how, instead of worshipping whatever god they choose, they instead think it's more productive to hate other people for worshipping a different god. Good write!

Hahahaha good piece overall. That last line is a huge sour pill shoved down "religious" people's throats. This sounds like a call of coming together, but with an ounce of razor sharp metal in the carcasses of the so called godly people (the fake ones).

By stating "I think My God is his God" I was simply implying that people cannot think enough for themselves to know what to believe or what they want to believe, they let others string them a long like puppets, maybe those type of people are just too confused by all of the other views of people and the contradiction that religion often brings.

And by saying "You, yourselves are too blame." Just means that these people started all of this and then they b***h, spit and hit when someone doesn't believe or see it their way, so they themselves are the cause of problem, if they would just back off and let people live their own lives and stop pushing their views so others may believe what they want to believe in peace then people wouldn't be arguing, protesting and fighting over all of these kinds of things.

Yeah, but my Gods are better. ;-) hehe.

My Gods let us be killed off by the Romans, I presume they were asleep that day. Or they were power napping. Then the barbarians era came and we started to come back lol. And then we got killed off again. When I come to think of it, our Gods need to wake the f**k up lol.

A good piece, I like it. Very topical.

I thought this was a great poem...I hate the health care reform bill as well. There is way to much war in this world. I hate war. I wish it will all stop...great job. Thank's for sharing.
