onceA Poem by EMOWRITER2233turning timesHer broken wings never stopped her She tries to fly with broken wings But this gravity pulls her down She tries to shoot for the trees But falls to the ground She continues on Never losing hope Trying her to heal her wounded heart These wings don’t bring her far But she travels on foot Pain won’t stop her She is strong And refuse to fall Depression swarms her thoughts As anxiety tries to take her down Those black strands of darkness Trying to shackle her But she smiles at the sun And embraces darkness She smiles like nothing is wrong And continues on Faking till she makes it she does But sometimes it the only way Her disuse helps her not be seen She runs on the battlefield with a heart that was broken long ago By a father before anyone else would know This sent her seeking love All the wrong kinds By all the wrong people She crashed And her wings became tattered And slowly her halo fell off But she fought the darkness With the light she still had Didn’t matter if all she had was one white feather She would still seek the light The darkness surrounded But she only shined brighter Having faith She would be a fighter Many times wanting to give in But knowing it wasn’t worth it On the battlefield she took bullets and spears Swords to the chest And still she ran Didn’t matter if she was cut and nearly gone She smiled because it’s the battle she is winning That keeps her going That smile never leaving her face Because at the end of the day It was just another battle she won
