Torturous Love

Torturous Love

A Poem by Penny Dreadful

Can it be possible for you to share your soul with more than one love?
One a kind, loving warmth you feel privileged to have, the other a demon of your mind who will never let go.
The first who tells you that you are the only beauty of the earth, the other who tell you that you are a worthless, ugly creature.
The first says you deserve the best in life, the other says you deserve nothing but pain and misery.
The first embraces you gently and promises to never let go, not even in your darkest times, the other hold your to the floor and crushes you.
The first helped you discover the difference between love and lust, the other twists your thoughts so that you can tell what is a lie and what is reality.
Can this be possible?
To the first, yes. To the other, no.

Whew! I thought in the end you were going to say, yes.

It's amazing how many people fall in love and stay in abusive relationships.
I'm glad you know the difference.

This was great Laurenmaree!
