letter to john adam, by abigail adam(poem)

A Poem by Janice Fronek(red.panda)
"

this is poem i had to write for english

"

How many are the solitary hours I spend

Ruminating upon the past

For you I write a letter to send

I believe it is near ten days since I wrote a line

Not felt in a humor to entertain you if you had taken up my pen

Very little had been done, it’s not fine

Shall we not be despised by foreign powers?

Must remember, arbitrary power is like most other things which are very hard

Notwithstanding all your wise laws and maxims, we have it in our powers

I long earnestly for a Saturday evening

Our little ones, shall not be deficient in virtue or probity

I often point them in their siring
