Aftermath of a broken heart

Aftermath of a broken heart

A Poem by Emo_pansexual

I was just your pawn
a piece to play
someone to love
then throw away.
Your cuts ran deep along my heart
the same one that I had to restart
draw red lines along my wrists
the metals love removes your kiss.
Deep into the night I cry
my tears bring with them a lullaby
I wish you didn't say goodbye
I'm left alone to wonder why.
We still meet from time to time
you trigger an earthquake in my mind
my heart beats too fast
as I slip from time
watching as my life rewinds.
I forget how to speak
how to breathe or what to think.
Around you I become someone new
not the me that I am but the me that you knew.
I just want to lash out at you
you shattered me when you said we were through.
Cut me off like your spit ends
Just act like we were never friends
you abandoned me when I had struggles
as I drowned I lost my bubbles
my air was gone I couldn't breathe
you were numb and couldn't see
the damage you'd done or how you left me
you thought you won but that wasn't the ending.
