Time Is...

Time Is...

A Poem by King Wolfe (Dylan A. King)
"

Time is...

"
Time moves like
Clouds passing
Gracefully overhead
As you lie in the green
Grass and gaze up at their
Regal beauty
But can be as still as
Mountains you can see
Off in the distance through
The haze of an early April morning
As the cool breeze blows blissfully by
Time can be as crooked
As the rain falling heavily
While the wind charges, as
If to avoid getting wet
Or straight like
The direction the suns
Heavenly rays take as they
Travel to bless the earth
Time can be lost
Like the last few drops
Of water needed to survive
As they fall into the dry sands
Of the Sahara
Or found like
The sweet oasis
Just as you are about
To give up all hope of
Finding a source of sustenance
Time is a painting
Of the meandering river
As the water breaks over tiny
Ruts and gullies, surrounded by
Lush green grass and tall trees, as the
Sun spills its light through gaps in the canopy
Or rather,
Time may just be your memories…
A sort of proof of your existence…
