Come...Sit by The Fire

Come...Sit by The Fire

A Poem by King Wolfe (Dylan A. King)
"

Sitting by a Fire

"

Come...sit by the fire,

watch the flames flicking up from the ash,

see how they dance ever so gracefully upon

a wooden pedestal,

Come, feel the heat fire brings from

nothing more than the wood and the air,

Come, listen to the popping of the burning sap

which alone can coax one into a comfortable

slumber,

Come, smell the unique scent of burning

oak as it slowly slips into nothingness,

So come, grab a seat by the fire and enjoy the

warmth it shares, and with it, share your most

valuable memories.

Very nice... Remind me of camping and winter fireplaces... And my own fascination with fire:)

thank you
I enjoyed it cause I spent a lot of time around campfires ( I suppose who hasn't ) and it was an inviting poem. Good job.

thanks
the thought of sitting by a fire and how cordially you invite at the end to join you,
and the imagery make this a good poem to settle an evening with
