-Forever-A Poem by Emilie Renee BarnumHere's the story, you know I tell it oh so well, because this life is a living hell.
Broken hearts and torn up letters, I have to know nothing lasts forever.
Wilted flowers and and shattered souls, and happiness is my ultimate goal.
But I never reach it my fingers only graze, and they all swear to me the pain is only a phase.
But I know better, because nothing lasts forever.
Salted wounds and torn open scars, the razor is never that far.
Bleeding hearts, scars that no one sees, down on my knees asking if someone could pray for me.
I've been talking to god lately but he just doesn't answer, hopeless, so hopeless, look at this mess, but still I wish you the absolute best.
I've learned I'm not a princess, this isn't a fairytale, I don't think once in my life have I ever felt so frail.
Eyes so blind, lies of a lover, painfully discovered.
The truth it makes me bleed, lies they travel straight to my souls core, but silence kills me like nothing before...
I know better, because broken hearts last forever.
