A Poem by Emma

the monster unfurls in my chest,

prods and tests and tests and tests,

grinning,

mirthless,

quickening the pulse,

stirring the heartbeat,

erratic,

yet i am unmoving,

a contrast to my beating heart,

then the monster is enticed,

briefly,

by the fallacy of humanity,

its plastered smiles,

its forgotten promises,

the monster’s head tilts,

briefly,

and then it is gone,

unnoticed by anyone,

but me

nicely penned. writing esp. in midnight oft. drags heart to solacity which further helps life understand one's spirit. kinda deep imagery here.

Thank you!
I like this a lot. Very creative in many ways. I like how you slip in a philosophical observation about humanity at the end. This is deep on many levels. Cool title too. Great job.
