Chapter FourA Chapter by EmmyRachel, now known as Ryan, has to get up and get ready for school. Stella decided last night that she was going to go too!I can't remember when I actually fell asleep last night. I sent Stella home, but at first she refused to leave. I told her to go and practice those spells of hers. It occured to me that I shouldn't believe all of this, and I think you'd agree. Even with that said, you're not the one who doesn't know what bathroom to use. I woke up, as normal, and took a quick look under the covers. Why was I thinking that Stella would get the hang of her magic overnight?
I remained in bed for several more minutes. Just because I was a guy, didn't mean I was more energetic in the morning. I groaned angrily when my mother began shaking my arm. "Five more minutes," I begged, half asleep.
My mother rolled her eyes. "I can see not much else has changed," she laughed.
I groaned once more. I'm not awake, and I wasn't going to wake up anytime soon. I pulled the covers over my head. "Please?" I asked.
I heard another voice, but it was too faint to tell. Was it dad's? No, he was at work. There was one other option. "If he's not getting up, I'll just go by myself!"
I sat up angrily, fully awake. "Ohhhh," I said, "Stella, you're not going."
Stella pulled a face. "Of course I'm going!" she said cheerfully.
I shook my head. I wasn't going to let her go without a fight. "What about the legal system? We have that," I said quickly. "You have to sign up to go."
She held a paper right in front of my face; it was a copy of a document. "I did, silly!" she informed me. "I did it last night, while your mom filled out yours."
I narrowed my eyes slowly. "Wonderful," I muttered. I looked to Stella's white witch dress. "You're not going to wear that."
My mother laughed at me and left the room. What was she laughing about? Stella locked her eyes to mine. I soon took notice. "What are you trying to say?" Stella pouted.
"I'm trying to say that you can't parade around in a halloween costume!" I exclaimed.
I stood up and stretched my arms. I worked better standing up than I could sitting down, that's why school is so difficult. Normally, all I had to do was give them my heart stealing smile. This wasn't going to work this year. Stella seemed a bit hurt and started tearing up. I placed my hands on her shoulders gently. "Stella," I explained, "normal people don't wear witch outfits." I sighed. "I didn't mean to insult you."
She looked up at me and smiled. It was as if God stole my winning smile and gave it to her. It was pissing me off. I invented that look! I laughed a little, "It's funny." Stella gave me a look. "That smile of yours, it reminds me of me."
She stared at me for a minute. Poor Stella had to process what I had said in her little brain. I sighed, "Forget it, You can borrow something of mine. I can't use it anymore anyway."
She lit up as I led her to my closet. I sent the doors open revealing a bunch of clothes. Stella seemed to like it, for she basically attacked the racks full of hung shirts and pants. I closed the doors behind her. "Let me know when you've picked something!" I called to her.
"Okay!" I heard her say.
She came out in a pink cami and a pair of jean shorts. Over the cami, she was wearing my old white hoodie. I remember the hoodie was light, so she wouldn't get too hot in it. I grinned at her; the girl actually had fashion sense. "I'm done!" she announced. "Let's head out!" © 2010 EmmyAuthor's Note
