Chapter 2A Chapter by TryingToSeeMore than meets the eye is going on here.
"Go help the others." His panic fades a bit as soon as I speak. "Go, I'll be fine here till you come back." His confusion rises and I realize I just interrupted him. Not good. He speaks again and I try to figure out a way to get him to leave so that I can sneak away but my thoughts are all muddled.
I feel his fear spike and see him lean towards me. A hand reaches out and brushes my ear. I feel it stick a little as it pulls away. I am impressed that I can notice so small a detail. Up until I realize what it means. My head injury is a lot worse than I thought it was, and apparently a lot more noticeable. Hit is talking non-stop now, not that I can hear him past the blood oozing from my ears. Maybe that is what that roaring was? I stop my thoughts from going any further, recognizing that I am going off on a tangent when I really needed Hit to leave. I tried again to get him to leave, but now that he had figured out that I couldn't hear he refused to budge. No matter what I did he would not go, and then the others came along and I knew I could not escape now. So I did the next best thing I turned off my sight as it was only just hurting me more trying to use it when it was so damaged. Then I waited until finally I was lifted again. I didn't need to fake the scream that ripped itself from me, but I did need to fake the loss of consciousness. © 2013 TryingToSee |
