Never Again Untouched.

Never Again Untouched.

A Poem by Emma Hagreen
"

*Trigger Warning* Written about becoming the victim of a sexual crime

"
I remember that night like no other
I remember the people, I remember the places
I remember the drinks, I remember the cans
I remember feeling uneasy, but not trusting myself

His smile charmed, at first
He seemed interesting and unique
Learning of his past intrigued me
But he was not all he seemed

We went out that night
With friends and high hopes
I thought I met new people
I was excited for the night

When we returned for the night, I was ready for bed
We decided to watch a movie, have another drink
I was concerned when his friends all left the room
But I ignore my gut and never left

My protests weren't enough
I couldn't save myself
I was subject to his desires
But no thought to my own help

I couldn't wash my body off
I scrubbed as hard as I could
I lost everything that night
I no longer believe in the good

I lost a part of myself that night
An innocence I can never regain
But I mustered up all my might
FIghting to remain sain

I cannot go back
I will not forgive
But I will overcome
He will not ruin my will to live

I fight every day
I fight every night
I fight so hard
Why do I make his wrongs right?

To everyone in pain
I understand what you feel
Fight every day for your life
 That is always our deal

You will overcome
You will make it through
Your life is not done
To your heart remain true

Never to be taken away. Never to be right again. Never to be frightful when they come over again. The hill has not died yet. The day is not over. Now it's time to blow their head off and stand barely sober.

Honestly, this was a very real and very gripping piece. To go through something is unthinkable. I cannot even begin to imagine. You are strong-willed and your poem kicks this in the a*s! Your last lines are what seal it. Inspiring piece It only takes one person to understand to change your world for the better. Thank you for sharing.
