Sad blue eyes

Sad blue eyes

A Poem by Emma Hagreen

Her smile lit up for all to see,  but now she holds it in
Memories of him cause momentary joy, but quickly fade to pain
Every sleeping moment was spent thinking of him
She tries, oh she tries, to remain sane

All those days, all the nights
She spent thinking of him
She wants her thoughts to take flight
But they won't, he fills her mind to the brim

It's hard to understand, over pain she'll rise
All things will eventually change
I want to tell the girl with sad blue eyes
One day she'll never again feel that pain

One day she'll know
One day she'll understand, i know she will
But currently, thoughts won't go
So  she sits, and watches, from the safety of her windowsill

So dear, with the sad blue eyes
Head up, stay proud, stand tall
There's about to be another sunrise
Go forth and conquer it all

I like this Sad blue eyes. I can completely identify with it. It is beautiful, lyrical, and it flows really well.
I love so many great lines, but the ending was phenomenal...."So dear, with the sad blue eyes/head up, stay proud, stand tall/ There's about to be another sunrise/Go forth and conquer it all."

Beautiful!
