Can't Go HomeA Poem by ToldButNotListening(C) E. Edwards, February 2015Can’t Go
Home
I gave you four weeks; you only took a
day. I came to learn that you'd never make me
stay. Just another burden of this life. When I am closed-off, I only wonder why It's always my fault, when maybe you
should try. Sick with fear, shamed by your
ignorance.
We all conformed, I never had a choice. This desert life is all I know.
CHORUS: I can't go home. There's nothing left in here for me, Nothing here to make you bleed. I can't go home. I’m sure one day you’ll see the truth. Until then, I’ll take the curse for you.
I tell you one thing, you never let it
go. Victimise me for what I can't control. It never hurt to be somebody else. And when I'm sure you have your share of
flaws, What have I ever had to be sorry for? Sick with fear, shamed by your
ignorance.
We all conformed, I never had a choice. This desert life is all I know.
CHORUS
And god, did I warn you?!
You all conformed, never gave a second
thought. And now I really am alone.

And god, did I warn you?! © 2015 ToldButNotListening |
