The color purple

The color purple

A Poem by Emilie

The color Purple

As I run down the cobblestone street

It began to rain; I slowed down to feel the rain on my face

Eventually I came to a complete stop

I looked around as the water droplets poured down

I saw the dark sky,

The fiery torches flicker,

And everyone’s candles blow out, one at a time.

It was the middle of the night

This was my time to roam the streets and feel alive

Everything is at a standstill now

Like time has stopped just for the night

The rain stopped and the sky cleared.

The stars have come out,

The moon was shining bright

Slowly everything started to fade into black

Then in the next moment I woke up in my bed

I realized this was all a dream.
