Ahead of the climax of Diablo League season and BlizzCon 2019. Diablo League season. As well as BlizzCon 2019. We spoke with Brack about the response to Diablo: Immortal, the preservation of the company's identity as well as his hopes for Blizzard.

Was it like watching World of Warcraft Classic launch because of your relationship with the game and the company. It must have been interesting to witness the halcyon days of Diablo brought to life again.

J. Allen Brack: Yeah. I think that, almost two years ago at BlizzCon that I announced that we were going to bring back Diablo Classic. It was something the fans had been requesting over a long period of time.

We told ourselves that we weren't going to try it. And then, throughout the first half of 2017. we worked out how to go about it. Thus, announcing it to BlizzCon was definitely one of my personal highlights. It was quite unexpected. It was something no one would have thought we could ever do because of the comments we made about it.

Then to come close to the beginning, which is nearly two years later and to look at the sheer amount of enthusiasm that has been generated, the overwhelming amount of enthusiasm, and the large number of fans returning as well as people who previously played it, as well as people who never had the chance to experience what the early days were actually like ... It's been a great experience however it's not enough. It's an incredible experience and extremely gratifying to see the passion from the fans and be able to see the community coming together as it did. It's been a great professional experience, no doubt.
