Chapter 3- My ApartmentA Chapter by EmilySixEmilia's POV: I was walking into my apartment complex lobby when I saw the manager putting mail in the mail slots. I walked up to the counter and rang the bell. He turned around and smiled at me. “Emilia!” He said in a deep French accent. “Shawn!” I said smiling at him. “I think I know what you want.” He said as he grabbed the mail from my mail slot. “Thank you, Shawn!” I said as I waved bye to him and walked toward the elevator. I walked out of the elevator as I arrived onto the sixth floor. I reached into my black Prada bag and grabbed my room key and walked in. I threw my mail onto the counter and threw my bag onto the couch and walked into my room. I changed into my black Adidas sweat pants and my plain light blue hoodie. I also threw my long black hair up into a messy bun as I walked over to my counter. I grabbed my mail and sat down on my couch and started to go through it. “Junk, junk, bill, junk.” I said as I flipped through the mail. It was finally when I got to the last one that it was something good. It was a letter from my best friend Allisyn. I rushed to open it. I haven't seen her since I was a sophomore in high school. I unfolded the letter and began to read.
Emilia,
It has been about four months since we have last talked. I have been very busy with school and everything. I am sending you this letter because somehow my phone deleted all of my contacts. Piece of crap. I also got a new number. But, other than all of that, how have you been? How is life working for Mrs. Marie Morph, or whatever her name is? I sure do miss seeing you! You need to come back down to New York and visit me and Jayne. You do remember Jayne don't you? Look, here is my new number. Call me when you get a chance.
-Allisyn
I grabbed my phone and put her number in it. It doesn't seem like it has been four months since I last talked to her. It feels like four years. I called her number and the phone began to rang. I was hoping that she would answer but it went to her voice mail. I went ahead and left her a message. I told her to call me when she got the chance and it was great receiving that letter form her. I set my phone down on the table and turned on my TV. I was trying not to fall asleep, but my eyes were getting heavier by the second. I finally just gave up. It was around eight in the morning when I woke up. I looked around and saw that I was in my bed room. How I got in there? Sleep walking probably. That usually happens to me. I went ahead and got into the shower. I needed one so bad. I have been running around like a crazy chicken for Marie for a few weeks. They had so many things popping up at once. I don't know how she was going to do it with out me there. Carlos, well, he isn't the most coordinated person. I got out the shower and changed into my denim shorts and a black short sleeve tee with my old black converse. I grabbed all of my dirty clothes and put them into a basket and brought them to the laundry room. I went and started the washer and put the detergent in it and threw my clothes in there. I closed the top and kicked the basket to the corner. I walked back into the living room and grabbed my phone. I saw that I had a missed call from Allisyn. “Damn it.” I said under my breath. It said she called at midnight. Yeah, I was crashed when she called. I walked over to the counter and put my phone on the charger and set it down. She would probably call back later. I went into my hallway and opened the closet door. I grabbed a stool and stood up on it to reach for my suit cases. It sucks being short, what can I say? I threw them down onto the floor and jumped down from the stool. I kicked the stool back to the corner and picked up the suit cases and lightly kicked the door shut as I walked back into my room and threw my suit cases on my bed. I was going somewhere, but I wasn't sure where. It was around twelve thirty when I heard my phone ring. I walked into the living room and grabbed my phone from the counter. When I picked it up, I saw that it was Allisyn calling me again. “Hello?” I asked as I answered the phone. “Emilia? It's Allisyn.” She said. “Allisyn, how are you?” I asked as I sat down on the counter top. “I'm good. I called you at midnight, but you didn't answer.” Allisyn said. “Sorry about that. I fell asleep. I have been busy with work and everything. I have also been trying to find a college I can go to up here.” I said as I played with the charger wire. “Speaking of work, how is that witch?” Allisyn said laughing over the phone. “Alright, I guess. She has been busy. She actually gave me a month of from work. She said a need to “refresh” I said. “Oh, really now? Do you know where you are going to go?” “Not really.” “How about you come back down to New York and come see me! It has been two years!” Allisyn said. “I don't care if I have to pay for your plane ticket!” “No. I am not riding no plane. I drove up here, and I can drive back down.” I said jumping off the counter. “Okay, Emilia. Call and let me know when you are leaving. Bye.” Allisyn said. “Alright, I will. Bye.” I said as I hung up the phone. Looks like my vacation was about to start. © 2010 EmilySix |
