Chapter 9

          It's Monday. I have been up all night thinking. Thinking, thinking, and more thinking. I didn't want to go to school today, but I have to. I wanted and needed to go because I have a test today and I wanted to see Andy. I didn't want to go because of the test and because I didn't want to tell Andy I'm leaving in two weeks instead of four.

           I lay there in my bed, staring at the clock. Watching time go by. I was suppose to be getting ready thirty minutes ago, but oh well. All of a sudden I heard someone pounding at my bedroom door. “Ashtyn, get up! You cant be late to school!” It was Lily. I am usually the one that has to bang on her door. I guess it was opposite day.

          “Stop banging on my door!” I said as I jumped up and banged on the door. “I'm up!” I said as I walked over to my closet and grabbed my black skinny jeans, my peace sign shirt and my blue converse. “Now hurry up and get dressed!” Lily yelled through the door. “I am getting dressed!” I said as I slide on my skinny jeans and threw on my t-shirt and my blue converse.

           I through my hair up in a messy bun and put my bangs to the side and grabbed my back pack and walked out the door. “Happy?” I said as I walked pass Lily to the bathroom. “What? No makeup?” Lily said. “I'm not in the mood for makeup today.” I said as I turned on the bathroom sink and washed my face. “Whatever.” Lily said as she grabbed her back pack and walked down the stairs that lead into the kitchen. I was so not ready for today.

           I put on my jacket as I opened the front door and saw that the bus was here to get Lily. “Lily, the bus is here!” I screamed as I walked out the door. I heard Lily behind me as she rushed out the house after closing the door. She could ran pretty fast. Even though she was wearing purple skinny jeans, she could run. “Bye.” I said as I walked onto the sidewalk. “Bye, Ash.” Lily said as she walked onto the bus.

           It was about ten minutes later when I walked onto the campus. I walked pass every one I knew and went into the building. I walked half way down the hall until I got to my locker. I set my book bag down and did the combination to the lock. I open the door and grabbed what I needed out of the locker.

I lifted my book bag up and unzipped it to take some things out of it. I placed them in my locker and I put what I needed in my bag. I had my back pack placed on my knee, holding it up. I closed my locker door. I turned my head to the right and all of a sudden I screamed jumped. I dropped my book pack and my body went into the locker. It was Andy standing right by my locker with his right shoulder leaning and the lockers.

           “Jesus Christ, Andrew!” I said taking deep breaths and looking up at him. “Did I scare you?” he said laughing. “I hate it when you sneak up on me like that! I swear, one day you are gonna give me a heart attack.” I said as I leaned down to grab my bag. “I think you already had one.” he said laughing. “Very funny.” I said as I threw my bag on my back.

           “Ashtyn, is it alright if I talk to you about something?” Andy asked as he took a step closer to me. “About?” “Well, ever since I met you, I kind of had a thing for-” Andy was cut off by the bell ringing. “Look, I have to go to class, I'll see you in Biology.” I said as I walked to the side of him. He waved bye to me and walked into the other direction to his class. I knew what he wanted to say. I wanted to come out and say it too, but I didn't. Something was holding me back. Us back.
