Purple Waters

Purple Waters

A Poem by _Just_Me_

I walk down to the riptide.
The waters of lavender and dark purple.
"Step in." The water calls out.
In I go, step, by step.

"Swim." The water whispers to me as I go under.
I'm enjoying the warm water, weird creatures swim beside me.
I twirl under the water,
almost feeling like a child again.

"Come deeper." The water nudges me.
Deeper I went.
The water get darker the deeper I go in.
"I want to go back." I start to say trying to get out.

My feet can't touch the ground,
The water keeps pulling my in.
"No you'll like it here. That's why you came in isn't it?" The water asks
I still try to get out, though my efforts do no good.

"It's almost the best part, come on." The water keeps pulling me in.
I start drifting with the waves,
There's nothing I can do to stop this.
Any of it.

I get to the deepest area in the water.
Still drifting in the calmness of everything.
I realize at that moment,
I have nothing to worry about now. I only have calm.

I have no idea if it's obvious to readers, but this poem is about suicide. A tribute to anyone who has committed.
