A Poem by Emily

Sun rises, new day

Wanting to run from what torments me

Find an escape, a different place

Stuck in a scene, on replay

Want an out, need an out

At my limits, empty and numb

Enough, enough, too much

Mind blank, yet so full

More lonely, than would ever imagine

Distractions only temporary

Anxiety remedy, does it even work

Seems like it doesn’t, too bad

Often wish, I wasn’t me

Would be easier, if I wasn’t

Me.
