Enough, I'll Just WaitA Poem by EmilyStrong emotions, Boiling to the brim Waiting to overflow Pushing against the walls of locked gates Waiting to escape Racing thoughts, causing a raucous Waiting to flood Angry thoughts trying to break the lock Waiting to be free from the invisible leash Waiting to be free from being a servant to my thoughts How to strategically tame my thoughts Waiting for my ponderings to recede, fall asleep How to stop believing everything my thoughts scream at me Waiting for my emotions to settle down Waiting for my emotions to get a hold of themselves Tired of giving my thoughts all the time in the world Waiting for my thoughts to take responsibility for their actions Waiting, waiting, waiting, hasn’t enough time elapsed? Enough, I say, enough I’ll just wait© 2016 EmilyReviews
