Black ShadowA Poem by ButterflyVisionThe feeling of having an all encompassing mental illness that takes you somewhere to escape from reality.A black shadow came to follow me, Follow from in front. I was lead by someone nasty, Who held my hand and made me numb. Following was easy, Keeping up was like a game, My shadow gave me company and protected me from pain. Everyone has a story, A shadow to hold their hand, Mine came from unsolved puzzles and life experiences i’d faced, unarmed. One month becomes a year, Then years pass quickly on, Was I living? I felt like I had gone.
A black shadow came to follow me, Follow from in front. I thought this hand was safe, Until I woke up and I was gone. © 2018 ButterflyVision |
