Creating a FairytaleA Poem by Theo RatcliffeI thought I was Rapunzel, With my long hair that was too short to reach the ground. Stuck in a tower of isolation. I wished to be Snow White. So I could bite an apple and fall into an endless sleep. But instead I hid in my empty castle. Away from the world outside the walls. Hallucinations from sleepless nights causing me to see talking tea cups. Tearing the wallpaper off with each breakdown. I played Cinderella. Hiding behind a mask, Pretending to be someone else while I searched for something I'd never find. But When that clock struck twelve and my glass shoe shattered. My only escape was the little pill served on a silver platter. © 2017 Theo RatcliffeAuthor's Note
