The Lavender BushA Poem by Emily LThe Lavender Bush The Lavender Bush that has awoken from her slumber taken from winters grasp, blossoms from the cold just as I have. Her delicate nature reminds me of an innocent beauty so fresh and so sweet. She is gentle...she is kind. A kind yet so ordinary, takes me back to a time of child like wonder. My innocence is born again with the smell of lilac and memories so precious so few. I am told to run my tiny hands through the lavender. Being ever so careful of the bee friends admiring the scent as well. The smell of lavender now lives on with me and through me. My innocence has faded into the many days I've lived and nights I've slept. Yet the lavender bush continues to grow each spring and somehow deep down I try to believe my innocence never died. © 2018 Emily LReviews
