A Rabbits Tale

A Rabbits Tale

A Poem by Emily L

A Rabbits Tale
The nighttime grew dim with no sign of dullness.
The friendly moon came out to rest in the charcoal sky.
As the plain bark of the tree swayed slowly in the winters wind
keeping perfect rhyme with thumps and pitter patter sounds of
little rabbits feet. Paw prints appeared in the freshly born snow
but there would be no such occurrence of a snow fall tonight.
The secret trail that once lay, now a snow path for play.
Frolicking in the frost together they stayed even taking a winters nap
the two remained.

Oooh, I love the imagery you've evoked here! A night that's "dim with no sign of dullness" really gives me a feeling of a sharp, piercing darkness. Also, the assonance between "lay" and "play" and "stayed" gives a little extra life when the rabbits come around.

Well thank you very kindly, i'm happy you enjoyed!
You've touched upon an innocence here... nicely.
