Rain in the GardenA Poem by Emily LRain in the Garden The rain has moved into the garden The small rumble of thunder off in the near distance rumbles only for a few seconds to welcome the sprinkles of raindrops The air is calm with no breeze Everything is still The smell of rain fills the garden The sweet calming sound of cuckoos enlighten the spring damp air All of the animals take cover including the birds, ducks, rabbits, and even those sly foxes who enter the garden to simply take an afternoon nap The sound of rain fills the garden that holds, carrots, radishes, cabbages, and wild flowers The rain sprinkles them kindly, replenishing them The animals watch the rain fall in its beauty with big curious eyes The ground is wet and has now turned to a dark brown The grass looks lush now Bright bright green with baby's breath sticking to the dew of the blades A slight ever so sight breeze passes by to say hello welcoming the smell of lilac to the garden The yellow rain boot is now filling up with water Until the rain has stopped The sun begins to come out from hiding The natural sunlight fills up the garden once again with gray rain clouds still in sight The rain had left and received a new day © 2016 Emily L |
