![]() The Fairy and the CellistA Poem by Emily LThe scene is presented as blue and the slightest tint of emerald Bubbles floating through the cool air A fairy playing her bronze trumpet wearing a pearly white tutu A grasshopper playing his cello with a bow Resting on a Lilly pad with a Sacred White Lotus revealing its true character There is nothing but peacefulness in the air Not a sound to be heard But only the mesmerizing hymns being strung from the string and brass If only you could hear it Can you hear it? Listen The two likely friends continue to strum But quickly the piece is starting to slip into a daze Slowly fading out Measure by measure If only you could hear it Can you hear it? Listen The melody is finished There is nothing more to be heard from the fairy nor grasshopper The sound of a crowded street begins to creep back in And welcomeS itself back into the mainstream of what we call "life" If only you had heard it Did you hear it? Just stop and listen, please Most if not always this melody has no meaning to thee. ![]() © 2016 Emily LReviews
