Goodnight

Goodnight

A Poem by Emily Feret
"

I have always been fascinated by stars. And I have always been mad about love.

"
Will thou love me when the nights grow dark,
With no constellations to guide our way?

Will thou love me when the stars all fall?
Sit back, and hold my hand,
And stay up to count them all?

I will make a wish
On all that catch my eye
That thou will stay and love me
As we watch the falling sky.

And if my wish be granted,
What a fantastic final sight.
I will count the falling stars,
And kiss you a hundred times
Goodnight.

The thought of all the stars falling is a little alarming. But i suppose if the firmament should collapse, giving one's love a hundred final kisses would be an acceptable endeavour.
i enjoyed your poem!
