Misjudgments

Misjudgments

A Poem by Duckey

I got you wrong
So wrong
Every minute, every second
I believed that you were something you were not

I thought you were loyal
To your friends
Your partners
God was i wrong

i thought you were kind
The kind of kindness that lights up the world when it's dark
The kind that makes you feel warm
God was i wrong

I thought i loved you more than i loved myself
I thought that i loved you to no end
The kind of love that never fades
God was i wrong

But i knew i had to give you up
And that was the one thing
I got right
