That's What Love Is

That's What Love Is

A Poem by Duckey

When i was in tears
I asked you why
You wouldn't leave
Until I had stopped crying
And you said to me
My darling,
That's what love is

I asked you why you played me to sleep
When i was restless
When i was hurt
And you told me
My darling,
That's what love is

I asked you why you always noticed
When i was hurt
When i was crying on the inside
And you said to me
My Darling,
That's what love is

Then one day you stopped noticing
And stopped playing
And stopped caring
Then you started flinging daggers
And you tore me up piece by piece

You hurt me with your words and your strength
You told me i was lucky to have you
That i was worth nothing
That i WAS nothing
Without you

Then one day i realized
When you asked me why i was leaving you
Was because
That's what love isn't.

Thank you very much :)
That's another great poem. How can a person be worth nothing as he said, yet write such great poetry? You have a talent that is worth more than the quality of physical strength. As they say the pen is mightier than the sword.
