Darkening Road

Darkening Road

A Poem by Emily Kirby
"

A short, prose poem in response to the J.R.R. Tolkien quote, "Faithless is he that says farewell when the road darkens."

"
The road darkens before me, though it is still early day. The life that I have known has changed with this darkness. I am young, still early in my day, but the road darkens. The things I thought I had known have been contorted into things I wish had never been discovered.
The path before me had light once, but with each harsh word, misused love, and faithless lie, that light quickly fades, and the road darkens.

Yes, very true .. with the each lies and hate all the lights turns to the nights and all the roads go lonely and got lost into darken sheds of the lights. You should have to written something more on it, it could be the best write but whatever you wrote's appreciated because the simplicity of the words defines how great the writer is. Lovely prose poem.
