Autumn Nights

Autumn Nights

A Poem by Emily19
"

A simple poem about fall in Maine.

"
Pumpkin Cheesecake, Apple Pie.
The leaves all shades of red and gold.
As the leaves on trees slowly die.
And the summer heat gives way to cold.

 Fresh donuts and apple cider,
All are gathered round the fire.
Winds blow;trees creak
And nobody dares to speak,

Lest the magic of an autumn night,
Be lost to all come winter's bite.

I really like this poem. I like the transition from Summer to Autumn and the second stanza perfectly describes a night sitting around a fire, the silence of it as the flames roar. This is really good for your first poem, I look forward to reading more!
