Fame

Fame

A Poem by Emily

She sits in her chair

        Legs crossed

   While men put themselves

In between her lines

   And the women

Flatter her

   Then

             Steal

Thoughts

    Out

Of Her hands

     (They are)

She is famous

   Did you know?

Fans from all over

The world gather

To read

   Her poems

  While

She plucks white hairs

One at a time

   Off her head

   Releases her grip

And lets them fall

To the floor
