Driving in Reverse with an Eyelid Twitch

Driving in Reverse with an Eyelid Twitch

A Poem by Emily

I have seen

                      War applauded

   B(U)y the masses

Flashes of orange and yellow

Like fireworks on the fourth of July

Not asking if it is right or wrong

                     They drive by

             Men scattered   (Warriors Used Up)

Lying in piss and vomit

                      On the streets

look

And see them

                                         Like a park bench

And Comment on what ___

A nice day it is!

Perceptions programmed

                Over and over again

(this is what rain sounds like)

Break free and you will be

            Turned into a criminal.

Hmmm i dont know what to make of this, powerful words but im sorry to say i did not grasp the meaning , i feel your words are meant to be spoken and not written, body language in prose may help, is it so?
