A Poem by Emily

hitting the cement, landing on my feet,
breaking my legs
as I lie here, staring out
only seeing in
bone marrow draining
drip, drop, splash, pool
coagulation

this is the bottom
the foundation. the inside out one way
or another - more stubborn than my
unbreakable will.
suddenly I detach and become
aware
watching the watcher...
it's all rather funny because

it's unlabeled
nothing, yet

A cell in my fracture.
