A Poem by Emily
"

anxiety

"
4:27 a.m. And it's too quiet
My chest is tight
On the edge of panic
I wake enough to instinctively
Writhe
Flailing myself from the right
To the left
And it never turns me into someone else

Moments as this wreck havoc with the body, mind and spirit - alone, afraid to the point of panic and we seek the solace of another during times as this but when that person is not to be found we realize how alone we really are - it's a vicious cycle of anxiety that only takes us round and round to another bout. The unfortunate element is that it often seems to intensify with each episode!

You have needed only a few words to explain a bout of profound anxiety - writhe, flailing describe it to a quickened heartbeat!
