Screaming Heart

Screaming Heart

A Poem by Emily Wright

It seems he never sees
The feelings that she holds
He never sees
the smile that spreads across her lips
The moment he enters a room.

She always talks with all her friends
About anything to do with him
The way he has his hair
Or his great big shining eyes
Her friends just roll their eyes
They have heard this all before.

And it seems
He never leaves her mind
It seems he is all she can think about
He is there when she drifts off to sleep
And he is there when she opens her eyes.

As she goes threw her day
She finds herself wishing they could be together
Longing to feel the warmth of his arms wrapped around her
Just for the comfort of him caring.

But he will never know
For she will never tell him
Just as she will never know
She will never know he wants more then just friends
But for now
They are separated by their fears
and will continue to hide what the feel deep inside unaware,
Of the screaming heart beside them.
