Hidden

Hidden

A Poem by Emily Wright
"

About people hiding themselves away.

"
I sit in the shadowed corner,
observing the people passing by,
the halls are filled with so may voices,
voices of what seems is people having fun.
And I have found myself wondering,
what are they all thinking,
wondering if they are showing the truth,
is that really them,
or like me do they hide away.
Although they are not in a shadowed corner,
they may have found other ways of hiding,
instead they hade the things they are,
they hide what they think,
they don't say what they want to be heard.
They hide themselves away,
although people can not tell they are hidden,
there personalitys are hiding.
They hide pieces of them selves,
unlike myself,
I hide everything.
I hide in the shadows every second I can,
the shadows consume me in its dark embrace,
they help to strengthen me in my weakest state,
help me through the ridicule I constantly recieve,
and as they throw their words at me I wonder,
Ewonder how many want to escape from the prison they have created,
how many want to just show who they are.
I wonder how many want to hide,
and I wonder how many already are.
For some they are able to hide in the welcoming light,
only for them they must change,
change the way they look,
change the way they walk,
or change the way they talk.
It seems that we all try to hide,
even without intention.
