Her eyes are shadows

Her eyes are shadows

A Poem by Rose Gryfeldor

clambers of the sofa
looks around
trips over her feet
squints, and flinches at a sound
bottle falls, thud
so loud

her eyes are shadows, dark bruised streaks,
and she glares at the world like its a freak

echoes through her head
last nights drinks
make themselves felt
as she rushes for the bin

ringings and thumpings
occupy her head
but she smiles
thinking
what a night

her eyes are shadows, dark bruised streaks,
and she glares at the world like its a freak
