walking

walking

A Poem by Emily B

I wish you would take my hand

and walk away with me.

Conversations may float

from autumn branches

or we may find

that silence is sweeter.

There are wildflowers somewhere

-waiting-

to wave in the wind.

There is a rock

high on the hill

where distant drums

still pray.

I want to take you there.

And I'm ready to travel Miss Emily. ;o) I want to hear the prayer drums and the sighing wind chanting softly across the hills... we can watch the stately mockingbird in pen-striped gray tuxedo officiate the dawn. His pulpit will be a mulberry tree and his song will lead our choir. Joyous!

oh, the yellow woods, the green woods, the orang-ish woods . . . what if I get lost between here and there?

Change it if you need to, but I like it as is. This is a nice, evocative piece of work. I wouldn't mind being taken there.
