transmutation

transmutation

A Poem by Emily B
"

internal alchemy

"

You still search

for the philosopher’s stone.

Anxious to turn lead into gold

seeking the coherent whole.

Solve, et Coagula.

Separate and Join Together.

Nigredo burns,

and we melt.

Albedo, ablutio,

aqua vitae--

We emerge cleansed and ready.

Citrinitas dawns--

Solar light illuminates all.

Rubedo,

coherent, whole--

Fusion of spirit and matter.

. ah ... this is a dimension of you that you rarely express ... your brilliance is inspiring ... your genius is almost intimidating ... but, as always, there's an earthy profundity ... a revelation ... in all your poems ... here, it's almost earth-shattering ... by the time i reached those last two lines, i knew that i was about to learn an unforgettable lesson ... those last seven words are especially enlightening ...

I liked the way nature became the alchemist with the 'fusion of spirit and matter'. I also liked the way you developed the premis of the 'philosophers stone'
with an unexpectedly spiritual poem. Stunning.
