I want you

I want you

A Poem by Emily B
"

'I want you to be weak. As weak as I am.' Milan Kundera (The Unbearable Lightness of Being)

"

We both know that there is no guarantee to loving.

You say I have power over you

and I say that I am too delicate; too soft to be a threat.

I still love you with that little-girl-love

that took my breath away

and I wonder how I could suddenly be so forceless.

I want you to be weak. As weak as I am.

Not so that I will have power over you,

but so that we can submit to the wondrous hand in hand.

I do...see what he means dear Emily. This simple, beautiful, delicate piece of soul has the power to make people speechless, to make them swoon, to make them think...remember...regret...but most of all BELIEVE...LOVE is the most powerful emotion in the universe...it builds mountains, oceans, cities,families....connections. You my dear are full with LOVE :) so very powerful in your becoming...

A beautiful, vulnerable piece of writing.

beautiful poem, particularly in the last phrase "submit to the wondrous hand in hand" And that's what love really is, no? strong or weak, no matter... it's the submission to the wondrous.

This is a very fine poem, a concise and crystal clear analysis of relationships, with all their complexities, their shifting and difficult interaction, and the profound insight that relationships are never stable, they move constantly, often through language. Great.

I enjoyed the way you expressed the need to be on a level and experience love from the same standing . There is a hint of disappointment at the fact that your are both not affected in the same way. Interesting write

you just get words don't you!? - "You say I have power over you
and I say that I am too delicate; too soft to be a threat." - so poetic - I think EH put it so eloquently below haha - the innocence - the love - hand in hand - nice!
