finding grace

finding grace

A Poem by Emily B

My generous hands

forgot how to pray.

I watched the butterfly

rise on strong winds

hoping that in the opening

and closing

of her silent wings

I might remember.

My heart is vacant.

The words all wandered off

and I've been searching-

for what

I can't name.

Hands wide open

and waiting.

My knees tremble-

ache-to please again.

But my hands won't remember

and the words won't come back.

The beautiful energy of ‘Grace’ is available to each and every one of us, regardless of whether you believe it or not! The mere existence of your being will acknowledge the signs all around you. Very interesting, poignant and self examining write … :-)

Not all poetry is prayer but all prayer is poetry. It lifts the spirit up...up...into the light....out of the darkness, sadness and lonliness and into the comfort, joy and love of God. There are things that can't be said. There are no words for spiritual communion. But we hear and speak just the same; those things unutterable to our lips...with our hearts, our minds and spirits...and we find hope where there was desperation; courage, where there was fear; forgiveness where there was guilt and faith where there was doubt. We all forget at times I think but when we truly need to remember, we will.

Emily is already the embodiment of grace :) It is but playing the role of an imp ... it will come back...if one is patient :) I agree with Lilly...it's gorgeous...the image of the butterfly...generous hands...

A tremendous amount of luxury and decadence hides in your words, well done

I know I read this before- I thought sure I left a review? Sometimes my words just won't stick.

This poem is as lovely as you are. Which is a lot of lovely. :)

from what i have read your words are prayers each one linked to the next..a strong chain at the end of which swings a royal heart..the words wont forsake you.they know where there home is.
