singing

A Poem by Emily B

That mockingbird might be

the only one singing in the moonlight.

On brighter days,

his song will change.

I've never yet

heard you asking him

where his notes come from.

wonder if he couldn't just ape the moonsong.
master that and be off to something else.
always looking for a song of his own.
