forever

forever

A Poem by Emily B

I'll wear my hair long

and throw my lipstick away.

I'll go where you go

and rest where you rest.

I'll hold you so close

that the darkness

can't wedge itself

between us.

I'll feed your heart

and tempt your soul

and you will always

be enough

for me.

But some days . . .

when I'm sideways

and the weather

wants to change

I may look yonder

and see a shining star

I may smile

and chatter

and fly free

"I'll wear my hair long

love the details in this, and i like the contradition, the fusion of both devotion and doubt, i think it reflects true of most life. not all moments are the same, we cant feel the same all the time. very well done,

WOW! This is truly an amazing poem. So well written. Great rhythm and rhyme, amazing content, and perfect word choice. Filled with emotion and personality. Well done.

thank you :)
What I really like about this poem is the opening image, powerful and well observed.
What`s great too is the line...when I´m sideways, which has a lot of meanings and all of them fit, walking sideways, standing sideways, sideways in a emotional sense of not being central, these are the kinds of images that only a good poet like Emily knows how to use.Great work.

utter devotion, to fanciful flight... I love what you've done here, especially the first two lines.

. oh, this is beautiful, emily ... i think this is the sort of detachment and happiness that enlightenment is about ... i hope to be able to feel this one day ...

Great little poem... yes... we are full of good intentions and feel the stability of what we have... yet sometimes long to break free...

You are a shining star...
