morning after

morning after

A Poem by Emily B

Who are you listening to?

well,

     the moon whispered

the lightning walked

     the thunder rumbled

the rain chattered

the morning air sighed around me

but I was waiting for you.

Brilliant, I adore this. You have such a musical ear for how nature works, whether the birdsong in so many of your other poems or meteology. I love the dawn and to find a poem able to distill that is a true luxury, thanks for sharing.
