A Poem by Emily B

there will be words today
or rain
I can never seem to tell the difference

clouds form

     thoughts swell

preparing for relief that may come

your dreams lay waiting
for the sunshine of a smile
and the quenching of a word

rain is promised from painted skies

lie back
     rest yourself a moment

soon words will fall
you will be soaked through
by the longing in a voice

comfort will wrap you up
and fill you

     with promised sweetness

It should't grow, its perfect as it is ... I love how you beautifully connected lack of words , to lack of water , dry as the desert , sometimes we feel the emptiness of no words , like praying for the rain to come and wash us all .... all poets can relate to this , we are the words people , we are longing to be heard on dry periods ... only a writer that know how hard it is , not to fid the right words to express the feelings , wait for the rain to come , wet the ground again before the first bloom... thank you for briinging so much beauty into here xx

you are the only person who echoes through each and everyone of her words...rest of us lie and exaggerate but you are there...same smile and sweetness...

I hope Emily, everyday. Some days they turn real. Most days they don't.

Our words have a voice.... Silence has a voice.... It's wonderful to find words after silence covets us... Oh, Emily...love the swelling of the clouds and then.....wish!!! Words!!! As we lie soaked with promise...

i think this is one of the best pieces youve ever written emily. detailed and concise, nice extended metaphor that doesnt overwhelm itself. i dont know what to say that the poem doesnt say itself. very well done, very very.
