Larry

Larry

A Chapter by Emily B

He taught daughters

how to shoot a long rifle

and how to throw a tomahawk.

He taught them to start a fire

with only flint and steel.

He taught me a few things,

too, maybe.

Smiling, he filled small hands

with good things to eat.

He watched boys and girls

grow up, little by little.

Proud of every one.

He left a large legacy.

Women on the Frontier wasn't the same without him. I bet he was smiling somewhere.

Some hearts teach through their actions, and this man's actions speak loud to his character.

A fine tribute Emily!
