A stunning poem, aching with the beauty and tragedy of love. I love the use of questions in poems because the poem becomes even more engaging, same with the "you". I love the framing lines with the apology at the beginning and end, making the poem come full circle.
Lovely and sorrowful. This poem is beautifully written and creates very gentle but sweet imagery. I particularly love the first line, which is extremely evocative.
your voice comforts me...raises me on soft breathed wings from the shore of Robinson Crusoe isolation....offering a reflection as much of me as any other human being...i wish i could write like you and am sorry that this will never truly occur...you are magic...I am a most fortunate one to know your words :)
I keep re-reading this..& each time I pull something new and meaningful out of your delicate words. So beautiful and deep...
"those who are lost to us don’t need me to be more personal; those who have mastered the little lessons and gone on"....
Love these lines...
Such a deep sense of sorrow for those who are not with us, gone, and yes, I think you have made such a statement in that we so wish to follow but can't, I loved the intense emotion and sense of loss in your words, because they were beautiful, and so very much I imagine many will relate too.
just because I want to pluck myself out of this life
and chisel you out of that one;
I would still follow that smile wherever it leads me.
we're always stumbling over our sorrys and attempting to soar past our regrets.
But in looking back there are only a few things worth regretting and most of the "I'm sorrys" should probably have been said to ourselves.:-)
Wasn't it a treat to see posts and comments by J?
to the Lost Boys
I am no Wendy;
but my voice brings you back to me.
And you sit around my feet,
anxious for a story
or a kiss.
Listening to my words
spinning adventures,
like so much g.. more..
