rough work

rough work

A Poem by Emily B

You aren't the same man

any more.

Your mirror lies

if the reflection you see

hasn't changed.

The weight of hard years

lifts from your shoulders

day by day

and ordinary

miracles are still worked

by extraordinary hearts.

Light shines

so often

from unexpected sources.

I am amazed

at the transformation.

I am amazed
at the transformation

A simple but powerful piece. When somebody at the bottom still has light inside of them and can use it to tranform themselves for the better it is amazing. An unrecognized miracle that happens everyday and that we never see for the smog. Well done and bravo:)

What a beautiful poem which makes me feel churlish after the one I have written from the other side of thoughts. What a treasure you are.

Change is good for us all and at times it may take ordinary miracles in order to accept change or to look at ourselves and realize that there is indeed a transformation taking place. I believe others see those changes in us before we realize them or accept them ourselves. They may even promote it with positive reinforcement, until we see the true light.
We wake up one day and the idea of it all hits us.
This is a thought provoking piece and that is good.

A day's toil - reminiscent for me of something I wrote reminding me of my father working so diligently in the garden although this man seems weak somehow - I can't quite put my finger on it perhaps it is the beginning stanza. Nice work.
Thank you.
Love and Light,

You are an amazing poet. I've searched through all of your stuff and I have to say that I'm really impressed by your work. Your rhythm reminds me a lot of ee cummings (my absolute favorite poet) and I was wondering if you ever considered experimenting with structure and form like he did. Just a thought. I'm no poetry connoisseur, but your stuff really speaks to me. I'm definitely a fan.
